Sharps: Good result, not so good experience

Sharps are very well known for designing and building bespoke storage spaces for homes.

They are probably best known for their bedroom designs, which provide floor-to-ceiling storage.

But of course Sharps bespoke designs can be applied anywhere in the home, and we chose Sharps to build us a storage space in our hallway to maximise the limited space.

I will say at this point that we are very happy with the end result, it is excellent!

You cannot beat a bespoke design, it is the only way to get the most from the space that you live in.

The first step in the Sharps experience is that a designer will visit you to discuss what you want, and the next step is a visit from the Sharps buyer (not sure what the official title is) who puts the design in his laptop, and shares it with you, and eventually sends off the order for the materials.

Finally, and probably most importantly, the installer visits and does the hard part.

We are very happy with the designer, and especially pleased with the installer, who worked hard to build our install in one day.

But he wasn't able to do so in one day because the buyer (second step in the process) had not ordered the correct materials to complete the job.

As I said earlier, the end result is great, and we are very happy, but the whole process eventually took five separate visits, three of which were the installer, who is paid for the project and not the number days spent on the job. The installer does not get paid for extra visits.

He/she has to cover for any mistakes made by the buyer in his or her own precious time.

The Sharps experience was very good, and we will definitely be asking Sharps to install more units in our house.

My message to Sharps is that they do an amazing job, and we are so happy with the result. Just look after your people.
