HSBC: What service?

We needed to get hold of some currency in small denominations recently, so we called our HSBC customer services. You would have thought that a bank would deal with this very easily wouldn't you? Well no, they didn't. After calling their number, which is not a freephone number incidentally, there was uncertainly. So we were passed to an offshore service center. I have no problem with that, but I do have a problem with being transferred and then told that they 'couldn't guarantee' that they would have the denominations. Oh, and would we like to order them anyway? Of course not. What are you thinking HSBC? When a customer asks for something that relates to money, you must respond clearly and not waste your customer's time. What with your branches closing, all I have seen in recent years is a drop in the quality of the service I receive. And I am a so-called 'Premier' customer. Get a grip HSBC.
