British Gas: Shocking service

We purchased a new build property last year (2021), and moved in in early 2022.
Our gas supplier we thought was British Gas, but it transpires that the supplier was changed by the builder of our property (Acorn Property Group) to EoN. This should not be a problem, except that our gas meter is wrongly registered on the 'National Database', whatever that is.
Long story short, we have not received a bill for about 11 months. And our neighbors are getting angry demands for payment from British Gas, with threats of bailiffs, even though it is not their meter!
British Gas is a disgrace. Acorn Property Group is a disgrace.
Perhaps they are both going through a tough time, but then so are we all.
